It’s that time of year again! March is National Nutrition Month! This month is all about spreading nutrition awareness, and in honor of National Nutrition Month I am going to try my very best to post some sort of healthy tip Monday thru Friday so my Monday posts will be a little shorter throughout the month of March.
I’m sure most of you have heard of MyPlate on ChooseMyPlate.gov. If you haven’t heard of it before, it replaced MyPyramid back in 2011. I like MyPlate more than MyPyramid because I think it gives a more realistic representation of how you should eat. By giving us a picture of a plate and how the different food groups should be distributed, it makes it a lot easier to build a meal rather than guessing where to put your 6 servings of grains and 5 servings of fruits and veggies. ChooseMyPlate.gov has a lot of great nutrition tips, sample meal plans, a calorie tracker, a physical activity guide, and so much more! Here’s a picture of MyPlate and I will include the ChooseMyPlate.gov link on here as well so that you can learn more on how to build a healthy, balanced diet!
