It’s that time of year again!  March is National Nutrition Month!  This month is all about spreading nutrition awareness, and in honor of National Nutrition Month I am going to try my very best to post some sort of healthy tip Monday thru Friday so my Monday posts will be a little shorter throughout the month of March.

I’m sure most of you have heard of MyPlate on  If you haven’t heard of it before, it replaced MyPyramid back in 2011.  I like MyPlate more than MyPyramid because I think it gives a more realistic representation of how you should eat.  By giving us a picture of a plate and how the different food groups should be distributed, it makes it a lot easier to build a meal rather than guessing where to put your 6 servings of grains and 5 servings of fruits and veggies. has a lot of great nutrition tips, sample meal plans, a calorie tracker, a physical activity guide, and so much more!  Here’s a picture of MyPlate and I will include the link on here as well so that you can learn more on how to build a healthy, balanced diet!
